Harbor Freight ...is a girls best friend!!! No...seriously!! :love
Don't know about that, but it might be one of a girl's best friends, along w/TSC, Lowes, etc. I never have felt that diamonds are a girl's best friend and I've told people not to give me diamonds unless they're part of the markings on an animal!
Don't come running to me when someone gives you a diamondback rattlesnake then!
I hear they taste like chicken! And, you can make boots out of the skin. :D

It has been a loooong day. I finally got a chance to clean house today. I did laundry and swept and mopped...until the mop head came off, then I scrubbed on hands and knees to finish up the livingroom floor. I have to figure out a way to make a new mop. I can't buy one, because I just don't have the money. Any ideas? Anyone ever done it?

Anyway, DD has been a pain in the butt all day. Everything I've told her to do...she had to have a reason why "I can't" or "in a minute" or "why can't I do it this way" or my all time favorite "well Daddy said..." :barnie Then she had the NERVE to ask me "what's wrong with YOU" in her little high pitch snotty voice that makes me just wanna slap her face off :rant I dunno what crawled up her rear end today, but she reeeaaalllllly needs to chill out. She screamed at niecey all morning until I got onto her about it, and now she's hiding in her room. I hate to say it like this, but after dealing with her all day...good ridance, I hope she STAYS in her room until school starts back if this is what I can expect from her!

I sure hope everyone else had a better day than mine relationship wise. Otherwise, mine was pretty good, except for the mop incident.

my nan used to make mops out of old towels

similar to this:
http://www.instructables.com/id/HOW-TO-MAKE-"THE-BEST-MOP-IN-THE-WORLD"/?ALLSTEPS

the only diffence with nans was instead of cutting the towle into individual strips like that she took the twoel lenght ways infront of her, cut stips going up the short side and left about 1" from the top so it was like fringe, then she attatched it by wrapping the uncute part around the handle and securing with heavy duty cable ties. by leaving all the "tasses" attatched on one strip she could take the head off and toss it in the wash then reattatch it...once it was too raggdy to keep washing the next oldest towel took its place.

sorry DD is being a PITA...

oh thats a great idea pinky! Thanks, I was just looking at some made from old towels on Ehow :D I may fold it in half lengthwise, and leave both hems on. I'll wind up with loops to mop with, but that's fine by me, it'll reduce the strings left behind anyway.

the biggest bonus is in my experience the towels/ thicker microfiber type cloth mop heads work SOOO much better than the rope/string and think fabric strip mop heads...

There's a pic tutorial on my blog :D It really was easy, and I LOVE this stupid mop, just because it's totally washable if nothing else!

ETA: THIS is the finished product :D

Well if you have a bald spot, it'd keep your head warm at least
