Hi guys. No canning Jamie? you better get on it. Jamester and I are leaps and bounds ahead of ya already ;)

James, I had to feed late too. I just finished up with farm chores. I had babies in the bator I had to move to the brooder for observation. And I had to feed the hog. It's almost slaughter time :D I need to get up the cash to get him some corn to finish him out, and then we're on our way to pork chops and ham :woot He's getting BIG too :drool

I haven't done any canning yet... :(
Loser! (JK) :p I however have canned about two hundred jars worth and have about 200'ish jars of fresh stuff that will come in soon....

THEN OUR FALL CANNING

Which will be ground meat, bacon, sausage, roasts, chops, chicken dices, chicken legs, chicken breasts, rabbit meat, beef stew meat, apple sauce, apples, hams, lard, soup beans, and who knows what else :hu

Jars will have to be bought for the above because I simply don't have enough for almost 200 pints and 200 quarts worth of meat, and we would like to can all meat for convenience sake....

But I have plenty of help with this. Me and Mom worked for a month now and she is back in school (I resume in a week), Auntie works all day and helps on weekends, and then Gran helps when she is able but the labor intensive stuff is my baby

That stinks. I have sick ducks. We first thought it was botulism because they kept getting in Myrtles pen and snacking on her old melon rinds from the previous day before we could get out and remove them. Now, we have no clue what it is. They're penned up now in their own little space, with no access to the pig pens, and still we have some dropping. The symptoms are they are loosing their ability to walk, and throwing their heads back as if they're choking.

Buff, WTSHTF, I'll just need your perimeter password for the sentry when I show up with my stuff and family to hide out at your place. :p
