Okay, what surprises could the weather this summer throw at your endeavor? Hail? Drought? Wind?
All of the above :/
Which do think has the biggest chance of causing you the most grief?

So something to protect the more delicate crops?

I was thinking of another greenhouse.
That would be my choice!! I want to try a hoop house out here, but I don't know if it would survive the wind!?
Probably not Cheerio :( Wind is their worst enemy! Thankfully we don't get much, but we have had the plastic ripped off once no less if that tells you anything.
I kinda figured as much!! Maybe I'll go "borrow" the windows out of all the abandoned cabins out here and build a glass greenhouse! :p

Drought is the most likely and we have contingencies for that. There is no way to protect from hail, and it is less likely. We had hail damage once in the last 5 years out here, and it was early enough it wasn't a total loss. Wind, we have a lot of good sturdy stakes already.

You could try plexiglass! They have some of those on Northern Tools website :D That would work much better!

I still like the idea of just holding onto it for those surprise sales on supplies.

I want to find a chainsaw and a small wood chipper to make my own beddings and mulch while cleaning up my property. Those would be a good investment for sure as many trees as we have.
