Wanted: Rose Hips

I was walking in our weeps last not and found what I think are wild hips. They are tint and what is left on the bush is still green, but there are very few left, so I'm thinking that maybe they have already fallen off mostly? Figured I'd attempt to get an id before I went and cooked them in tea lol
Figured I'd post this here since yall seem to already know.

I can't tell, rose is pinnate and opposite like this, but does it have thorns?

Looks like rose to me. I see thorns, and the leaves look right.

Yes, small thorns. There were so few hips left on the bush I was surprised.
I picked a sprig of them, but I wasn't sure if they had to be red or if green was ok. There are so few left is almost not worth going back out there to get any more.

Come out to Idaho, there are wild roses loaded with hips, I was eating them last time I walked my dog, over winter they have become ripe and very sweet, tasted like a mild apple...
Seriously, I could fill a five gallon bucket in ten minutes without moving a step... Loaded...

Well, apples are in the rose family, so that kind of makes sense.

The hips out here have overwintered meaning they are overipe and mushy, I don't think they would travel well, I'll tease you with some photos next time I'm out...

Move west, I came from Wisconsin two years ago, its -10 degrees below zero in Wisconsin and 47 degrees here, same latitude but a different weather for sure...

Not the best photo's but this is one bush just down the road from me, it's been picked over by birds, but is still loaded. The hips are mushy, but still sweet...
