Passes are all closed here. Can't get to other side of state.

It's the same for northern Oregon. Mom's county was fully closed. The county actually called all landlines to tell people that. The plows couldn't see well enough to run and it wasn't doing much good. They might be open again but not sure.

TN and KY are getting whallopped right now with snow on top of ice. My friends are safe, but huge areas are being hit

i've watched that stream of moisture come across the country the past few days, it's the same line of storms that went through Washington/Oregon.

Apparently the sunrise means feels like temp goes up but actual temp goes down?! :lol:
Same here! so weird! It was -26 when I took DS6 to school. Warmer now. I hope this is the coldest day of the year. About 8 years ago (ish) we had a January with 2 - 3 weeks of -30 temps. Remember that? They stopped closing school for the cold weather because it was so long. DS14 (then about 6 years old) and I blew bubbles and they froze in the air - that was cool!
