it rained this morning so we don't have to water in the seedlings again. hopefull this will also soften up the garden i'm trying to get weeded before planting. yesterday was pretty hot and humid and so today will be a break since it won't get as hot, i still need to get out early and get going if i expect to finish cleaning up this garden today so i can plant it tomorrow and Saturday.

Lost power last night for about 5 hours. No storms, who knows.

Storms trying to pop up tonight, nothing close

Around here I always assume someone hit a power pole. The exact same pole got taken out 3 or 4 times last year. It's on a straight stretch of road and not at an intersection.

we did have a lot of lightning last night from the storm that went through but i doubt it affected things that far away.

today was much nicer out and i almost got a full four hours of hard work on the garden before i finally pooped out. i didn't finish it since i decided to dig some grasses up which is a lot harder and more time consuming work than just scraping the surface. it's coming along. tomorrow should be even cooler and easier but i still have about 20ft to go. i probably won't be able to get planting until Saturday or Sunday.

no rain in the forecast now for the next week so regular water schedule will have to keep me on my toes. when first sprouting beans i water twice a day to make sure they're kept evenly moist enough. when it gets really hot i'll even consider a mid-day light spray to cool things down a bit - don't want the seeds to roast.
