So once the ground is cement like -- a hurricane will bring rain, creating a flood!!! :he :th

I know. I know.....just prepping you...lest you have forgotten. :hide
At this point you are probably right, but I hope not!

I'm terrified we'll get a flood that wipes out what's left in my garden. I planted Argonaut squash and sweet potatoes in an area that was a pig pen. Great place that had zero vegetation in it because the pigs had made it all disappear and was well fertilized with pig poop. Everything in that area is growing like crazy! BUT - they rooted up the dirt around the fences and created the equivalent of a bowl in that area. It literally fills up with water if we get a big rain. I have visions of being outside in a monsoon digging drainage ditches to try and alleviate the problem. :th

What a pleasant surprise! I woke up about 6:30 am, to the sound of a nice thunder storm. Couple of chairs blew over and some limbs down but oh the down pours and nice soaking rain I'm listening to now, sweet rain \o/ . Almighty's water is the best water. Way better than my poor attempts with a bucket and garden hose. Plus Almighty's water is free, can't beat that 👍 Thanks for answering 🙏 Mr. Almighty.

Rain late day. From?? Sky just opened up. Wham...hard and fast. 😲.

Milking and feeding had just finished up. Goats back in regular area after a day in another field helping me cut it down....not gonna waste that feed! 👍. They'll have tomorrow there, too.

We have had hot temps for here for the last several days. 90's... nights not cooling as much as normal, upper 60's and 70's. Had 1.1 inches rain Sunday, hot humid some sun and clouds, pop up downpours... 5/10ths inch by tuesday, another one Wed night ans 2 showers on Thursday for 3/10ths, and then another windy and fast downpour this afternoon for another 1/10th..... now we are looking at clear and cooler and drier air, temps in the 70-80 range until Tues or Wed... DS will be cutting hay tomorrow....
I hope to get into the garden in the next couple days and get the rest mulched as the area around the "hills" are all weeds.... should have some new plantings coming up too.

It's been brutal here this past week. Kind of conserned about the animals, mostly the cattle with black or dun colored coats. Like me, I think they would prefer it to cool off some.

But then I thought about the grove of trees, in the valley of the back pasture and how it would give them shade.instead of being under their double stall behind the barn. So I took the gate off the hinges for the cross fence that leads to the back pasture. Guess where they went? right into the grove of trees in the valley where it's cool 😁. Lots of good graze grass growing back there from being hayed several weeks ago also.

I think this is the first time my cow logic actually worked. Up until this point everything I thought they would do they didn't do and everything I didn't want them to do they did. That's cow logic 🙄
