Another dog--this one in my horse pasture, chasing my duck!!!!!!

He's a big freindly,( did i mention big )young yellow dog. Looks like a shepherd yellow lab mix. Friendlier than all get out. Unfortunately, he wants to e[play with my freerange critters. He's in my garage right now, and I have called the dog catcher. He'll be here for a bit. But. he. is. not. staying.

Ya know? I would maybe be a bit more compliant if someone was to say, drop off a goat in milk, or, something along those lines. As much as I love my little ugg pug that I found a month or so ago, I can't have 4 dogs.

I can't help but laugh at:

The fact that dog is so friendly makes me think he does belong to someone....do you get strays or randoms often?

OH, he has to belong to someone. I just don't know who, and it is pouring rain outside, so I am not going up the road to knock on doors or try to shoo him away ( tried briefly, got wet, he thought I was playing. )

I have three close neightbours, the closest ones 1/4 mile away. This dog does not belong to any of them. and, no, we don't normally have strays around, but I did find my pug on our road the day of a bad snowstorm. A small dog out loose in the country is not normal. I woudl more expect to see a dog like this loose, but unfortunaltely, he jsut wanted to play and chase my ducks. Not gonna happen. But two dogs in a month? Weird.

Folks may not be able to afford pet food anymore and think if they drop their pet off at a shelter it will be euthanized. Just sheer speculation but I've been thinking when our old dog dies, we won't get a replacement for him so folks worse off may have to have a more immediate answer.

If you want farm animals dropped off, I've got a spare rooster you can have. Although I think his name is "soup" later today.

See, I'd take a free rooster too. And he'd be called soup at my houe too. But I can;'t have four dogs. We kept the pug, b/c I knew she woudl be put down b/c of her eyes. And she is amazing! This dog is great too. But. He is big, and he chases ducks--not gonna give him a chance to chase my chickens. Even if his owners do not claim him, he will be adopted and not put down. He's a suck!!

For some reason, I can relate to all this.

Now, 5 cats in the house, 2 handicapped dogs, also in the house, 3 barn kitties and now a new litter of kittens...

AND I DIDN'T ASK FOR ANY OF THEM

I finally told my rescue happy daughter, that any animal she brought to our house would eventually be back at hers since a lot of them would outlive us.

But stray animals have always found their way to me, no matter where we lived. sigh. :/
