Well, we already had the music cranked and sang along with Ray Charle's "Night and Day"....I always get the part where the woman is wailing, "BABY! OH, BABY! YOU KNOW I LOVE YA!" :D Love that part.......

So very fun! We danced, sang, played Scattergories, watched a movie and will be playing cards later.

My son did his Scottish accent and we teased his brother about having a romance with the Bettys...then I laughed so hard I peed my pants...you know, the usual. :barnie

We have been swilling pop(usually forboden in this house) and eating other bad foods. :sick :drool :sick :drool

I fixed a whole vat of homemade chicken noodle soup with rice and kielbasa in it...... :drool

Made some Cat Puke Dip and it was great....still munching on that, BTW.

At midnight, the idiots....er...I mean....my boys will go out and shoot off a couple of my very few .410 shells.

I will go out and commune with my animals in the moonlight....I always do that on New Year's Eve. Spend a little time in the stillness with God and the soft critters and then......

....we will slowly wind down and I will end a very long day by sliding gratefully between my soft sheets, relax into my memory foam and then fall asleep reading about honeybees...... :th

We had wings, little smokies, veggies and dip, cheese ball and crackers, chips, pop, and some homemade mac n' cheese.
We invited 4 extra kids over...so if you are counting that is TEN kids! We played hide and go seek in the dark, Guesstures, and now it is video games for most of the boys and 4 yo DD and the other girl that came over are playing in 4 yo DD's room. The baby and 7yo are already zonked out! 2 down 8 to go!
We plan on moving the couch out from the middle of the living room and letting them all have a slumber party in the there!
Tomorrow we are getting up and having pancakes and then hoping that there is some snow left so the kids can go out and play.
Now we are just waiting for the ball to drop....

Oh my gosh, I just went out with the dog one last time. I stood there waiting for him to do his thing. There's 2 inches of fresh light snow from this morning, the moon is trying to shine through the clouds, the trees are swaying slightly in the breeze and there's an owl hooting softly a few yards out into the woods. A few light snow flakes falling. The puppy cocking his head from side to side listening to the owl. There's a poem happening in my backyard! Wish I could write it!

Hen, sounds absolutely lovely! It's the same poem that was written at my place last night....moonlight on the snow, stillness, animals snuffling into my hands. Heavenly! :)

We got the keys to the new apartment and spent the evening moving stuff in.

Then we had food delivered for the first time in 7 years.

We ended up having some friends over, our old neighbors and their two kids.

I put out veggies & grapes, a cheese tray, homemade WW french loaf, she brought hummus & pita and crackers....

I cooked a ham and roasted fingerling potatoes and mac & cheese for the kids.

We hung out in the courtyard by the fire.....the guys smoked cigars :sick

I work up too early and have a headache
