Not quite canning, but dehydrated a tray of apples yesterday. Sort of a test run with varying sizes and shapes. These are for the wife. Hopefully being sulfide free she will be able to enjoy them.

I tasted just a tiny piece, I had forgotten how concentrated the flavor gets.

for those who don't have access to orchard trees but can still find some wild apple trees that is a good thing to do with them since they can be rather tart, but drying them will sweeten them up some.

No canning here today, but mapping out my holiday baking WHICH always turns into mega batches so that I can freeze some to have throughout the winter.
I tried that one year when my kids were in grade school. The big freezer was in the garage....one day I went to get some of the stash and found mostly empty bags! :lol:The kiddos and friends had found them!!

This is best part of the dried fruits as snacks. 😁
