Have a canner of pintos, 7qt, I'm waiting to steam vent so I can bring to pressure & set timer.

I put 9# of dried pintos into 1/2 gal jars for protection. They're a lot of halves & not cooking them BUT bought at clearance at 17 cent a bag, will cook for chickens in winter. Good protein. Cheap feed. I'd say they were seconds.

Windy out, so inside day. Some clean up & laundry happening. 🫨

I made some pint jars of Mrs Wages Medium Salsa and then a Ball book recipe for my 1.5 pint jars.

With meats I'm always suspicious of a bit of fat getting onto rim during processing...as they vent. :idunno it's often a mystery. My table stays full of jars during canning, while waiting a couple days for positive seal checks before storing away. Phobia.

Free apples make good everything!

Read today that they've produced a yeast that can be made into the casein of milk -- for vegan cheese!

NOT gonna ever replace Mother Natures own fresh milk from my goats, & others cows! Dang. Like cloning. 🥴 Vegans -- just don't eat cheeses!!! :old solved. My personal PSA.
