I am thankful for another year with my 89 year old mother and my first year with my new granddaughter. I am thankful for all 5 of my beautiful grandchildren and for the son and daughter that made them possible.

Good health, a decent life, the ablity to grow a garden, the skills and tools to build shelter for my animals, thanks that DH and I are both not only able to work but still have decent jobs. Our HOME.

There are so many things that I give thanks for daily. My funny, loveable dog, my silly acting chickens, the wonderful herb garden that DH helped me with so much this past year. My food stores.

Sunshine, rain, rainbows, butterflies and dragonflies, the spring flowers that are still blooming outside my window right now with the brightly colored fall leaves falling all around them. However, I am finding myself hard pressed to be thankful for all those leaves that will have to be raked up. (Still working on that one).

And for all of you wonderful friends here who are always willing to offer support, advice, and a good laugh when one is so desperately needed. You all have the ability to make my world right sometimes when it seems so topsy turvey.

I am more than thankful for my great life, great family, great parents, great "well, everything"

One thing I am grateful about is my better understanding of "how I want to live" and I am striving for that lifestyle. No more conforming....I am doing what I want to do and it makes me happy........and if Mama is happy, everyone is happy :gig

I'm thankful that my father, who has a bad heart condition for 17 years, finally had his triple by-pass surgery last thursday. And I'm thankful that he's now home and recovering faster than I would have thought possible.

I'm thankful for my family, my friends, the roof over my head and the food in the pantry... there are so many that don't have those things.

I'm thankful that the fix-a-flat kept my tire inflated for the drives in for DH's medical tests all week.
I'm thankful that turkey went on sale to an affordable price this year.
I'm thankful that we've had mild weather so I could play catch up with cutting, storing firewood.
Small favors.

I am thankful for family and friends, for food and shelter, for God's saving grace and that my new arthritis medicine seems to be working! I have many more productive fun days now that the pain is much less. :)

I am thankful for good health for DH and myself this year as well as good health for all of our critters. I am thankful for a good job. We just got new neighbors that I am exceedingly thankful for.

I am thankful for a feeling of belonging. I am where I need to be. I am thankful for the creativity that God gives us to think outside of the box and to be resourceful, inventive, and playful. I am thankful for the joy of waking in the morning and living in a country where we can still make choices. I am thankful for the goodness of others and that I still believe there is more good in the world than bad.

You know....when I come on this forum..and I read posts like these....THATS what I am thankfull for. For finding friends...that understand what "its" all about. Every day....as I walk from my barn...to my chicken coops...I look around...and say..."Thank you Lord, for letting us be the ones to take care of this little piece of earth..for all that you have placed on this little piece of land...and for the strength and knowledge to take care of it." I am thankfull...(later) for the mistakes we make...and the lessons we learn from them. I am thankfull for a pantry stocked with food we grew, and canned...and for our healthy critters. There are just too many "things" to be thankfull for...but I am thankfull...for living this life, and being able to!
