I just finished The Last Lecture last night!

Next on my nightstand is House of the Seven Gables by Nathaniel Hawthorne. With the kids I am reading Journey to the Center of the Earth by Jules Verne.

Tamlynn--Do you recommend the last 2? I'm always looking for something to get my kids hooked on reading. They read well, but they don't do much reading without coaxing. When I start them on a book, sometimes that does the trick.

I got a Patrick McManus book called They Shoot Canoes, Don't They? It is tongue-in-cheek, lighthearted humor, much of it about his childhood, hunting, fishing and living in the mid 1900s. Perfectly innocent and fun for the family to read together.

Right now I am re-reading Gone With the Wind, and the new Urban Farmer magazine. As far as favorites, Colleen McCulloughs First Man in Rome series, a series about ancient Rome during the Republic. I just finished the Dan Brown books Angels and Demons and the Da Vinci Code, and I highly recommend these as well.

I have a few books I've started and have been reading here and there;

Exodus by Leon Uris

Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston

Drawing Down The Moon - Witches, Druids, Goddess-Worshippers and Other Pagans in America by Margot Adler

55 Most Common Medicinal Herbs 2nd Edition by Heather Boon & Micheal Smith

People of the Owl by Kathleen O'Neal Gear & W. Micheal Gear

Healing Wise by Susun Weed.

So far so good on all of them!

OMGosh, my parents went through a Patrick McManus phase when I was younger. I have to admit that I remember he is a pretty funny author.

I love his explanation of how irresistible he is to women--they have to work so hard to appear to be ignoring him and that is how he knows how irresistible he is :)

QA--I had to smile at your list :D You can really tell what SS activity a person is submerged in by seeing their list of reading materials! Last winter I had about 6 beekeeping books going. I imagine soon I will be looking for books on soapmaking.
