@CrealThank so much.

Down today. Have a huge project that I need to finish by next Friday and then Saturday, to Lansing bright and early for a day with BYC group. My knee hurts, no sleep last night. Trying to stay awake,lol Hub gave me a scared last night when he walked into my room and just stood there. He heard me crying about the pain and came to check on me.
He did the whole acre lawn mowing. I only went out twice to feed the chickens and to collect eggs. Before turning in, need to close them up and water the "garden",lol I would like to call it a garden,lol

Oh forgot, I did planted sme Spanish Sweet Onions. Hope they do well. These days are long. 9pm and it is still clear outside.

Be sure and look at the helpful guides at the bottom of the Dixon Dale farms page. There is a lot of really good info in there. Plus if you decide to purchase live transplants, their plants aren't overly priced, all things considering. I grow my own transplants starting late December inside from seed.

It's also very interesting to read the water and fertilizer requirements for onion transplants.

Onion sets are a completly different matter, you don't fertlize them, just water.

Finally got my green beans hay'ed in. Maybe they will come on up and flower now and grow some beans.

It's been a really strange beginning of summer with a week of excessive heat warning. And they are forecasting another round of excessive heat warnings starting again Tuesday. 🙄

watered and weeded yesterday, will finish up the weeding today. melons and squash are starting to get their first vines, potatoes all have flowers, I saw tiny pea pods, and one of my peppers (new variety-I will have to look at it later and report back-but it is a sweet heat one) has turned from green to red! I counted 18 tiny blueberries, for my first season and deer eating 2 of the buds off, not too bad.

Windy but tolerable and temps ok. Wanting to have those lovely straight rows y'all have, I put stake and string to the test! Now have two patches of rows for my colored corns...with space between to transplant the squash I seeded yesterday, so they can run between them. 200' of corns...room ready to string and row for that much more, I'm worn out. That has to be a tomorrow job. Time for milking and feeding chores.

Before all that I had decided I needed more hose. Considering cost, I checked around my stash and trash. Had 75' hanging on fence in garden 🙄, had 100' that needed both ends replaced -- had those from previous yr end sales -- put on and WALA!!!, another 175' of hose ready to go. 😁 Watered seeds from yesterday. Never left home or spent any $$. 👍

That is right! Your soil looks like sand just like mine.

Honestly, I have not gone to read on that link. But here are my beloved walmart green onions from a month ago on just purified water,lol Their roots are about 3 inches long. If I put them in soil, they die,o_O
