What did you do in your garden today?

I shredded up two very large bats of zuc. I got three zip lock bags of shredded zuc, 2 C in each bag, for the freezer.

Went to Oroville and visited with my momma.

worked on clearing some trees and wild grape vines from a fence. i didn't even know there was a tree under those vines. i also didn't know that raspberry canes could grow taller than my 6ft fence, but there they were coming up through the tree and the grape vines. looks nicer now. always more to do...

I learned something new about squash bugs that might be helpful. If you delay planting until later in the growing season chances lesson that squash bugs will attack your squash plants. You will probably need to determine the optimal date for direct sowing squash seed for your location.

Grapes are coming along nicely. Niagara more so than concord, but still happy with both. Planted 12, 12 have grown, deer have stayed off them and old nasty hay mulch is working well. Really can't ask for much more than that.
