Heat wave, lol! I seriously do not know how anybody deals with those temps. Kudos to all of ya'll who do!

good boots, layers, keep dry and do not tie things tightly which cuts off circulation. i would go out and walk in blizzards and found it very peaceful and great exercise. for some reason i didn't worry as much up north about people driving and running over me or snowplows. around here, i don't like walking up and down the road in the middle of the day in the summer. people just don't pay attention to where they're going... :(

I had inherited, when we bought this property, pvc about 2?3 in. I wired it onto each fence posts that holds the field fence all around the fruit trees. Then I put 3 evenly spaced rows of hot pink field tape all the way around as high as I could go. The deer have not jumped it or tried to.
This year I need to do the same around my garden. We have a new small heard of black/gray deer and they have been in the large padlock close to the yard and garden, which is fine I am glad for them to eat down that field. But,, as long as they stay outside the boundary line. When I am at my desktop I’ll find a pic of the fruit trees. I think I posted one in 2023.

Everything except parsley and sage have sprouted. I need to mix up some more soil and start the next set of perennials. I hope my oregano survived the cold, because I can't find my oregano seeds. Licorice should seed this year.
