Today, I quit smoking.

Last night, I made 24 6" x 6" napkins from a flannel sheet, sort of cocktail napkin size. I made this size in the past from the last bit of another sheet and I like it so much, I made a bunch on purpose. Think I'll make more tonight, as they are so handy. And some to give, too.

I am back to my coupons.
Since the move I just have not had it in me to dive back into couponing and it is ridiculous. I still shop smart and only buy what is on sale, but I can really boost my savings by just using coupons.

I just got back from the bakery outlet. I got a 12-pack of whole grain hot dog buns, an 8-pack of whole grain hamburger buns, a pound of normally-expensive coffee (for hubby), a box of Earl Grey tea bags (for me) , 4 loaves of whole-grain bread, 4 boxes of not-too-unhealthy cookies, a box of really not healthful glazed donut holes and a jar of fancy triple-berry jam.......all for under $20.

I spent the morning in the basement, starting to reorganise my food stores and check the date codes for items that are coming close to code. I found a half dozen items, so far, that are just past code or close. I will use these items up within the next few days. I hate to waste food.

We textured our own walls rather than paying someone else to do it! In fact anything in the house that we re-do, we do ourselves except for plumbing and major electric.

I made my own carrot seed tape. Worked just fine. I placed them in the garden, scattered a little dirt on, watered 'em, and put some boards on top so they won't dry out. I plan to uncover them in about a week or so.

I do everything. Even plumbing and electric. Gets interesting sometimes. We need a new roof though and I don't think I'm up to it. I'm too old to fall 2 stories on my face.
