DH and I are down to one car, his car bit the dust quite suddenly and quite thoroughly. It had over 250,000 miles on it. So we got our money's worth! And rarely needed repairs. RIP :hit

We are going to see how long we can go on one car. It won't work for the long haul, since we are self-employed mostly and our work takes us in different directions a lot.....but.....we will see what we can do and for how long.

We'll have to do the same thing if anything happens to my car. It is a 15 year old Volvo wagon given to us by friends. It has 220K on it but so far is running just great. We do also have DH's truck as a third vehicle but it is really rough and I hate driving it.

With back to school looming I started going through DS's clothes to see what is still wearable before I went shopping for anything. Glad I did! He has plenty of short sleeve shirts. He has enough pairs of jeans and pants for the rest of the warm season. The way he's been eating I hesitate to buy what fits now. I think we'll see him stretch up again soon. He grows very slowly, has never really had a major growth spurt. I just pulled anything that was too small or stained and was left with lots he can wear. So I am going to shop but it will be for specific things, long sleeve shirts and shorts on clearance. He's worn most of the shorts he has for 2 years straight. So if I get some that fit now he'll wear them for about a month then we'll have them in the spring. I saved myself from buying him a lot of new stuff he doesn't really need.

Edited for embarassingly bad typo!

Last week I canceled my stores DSL the people I lease space from offer wifi but you get kick off a lot so I had been resisting using it for that reason.
Today I bagged my breakfast & lunch... Hoping DH has supper ready when I get home:p

Besides spending time picking, peeling and cutting our ugly peaches and making them into sauce, I saved about $10.00 on Sally Fallon's book, Nourishing Traditions. I used a 40% off coupon. It's the only way I buy books new these days. And it has to be a book I really want or need.

Today we went to our most unfavorite store - Walmart, and stocked up on canning supplies and a few other things. The smaller lids were $1.50 per box. So I got 25 or so boxes, I took the whole case, it had a few missing, I know they won't go to waste.
We also bought some more canning jars and wide mouth lids.

The store I usually buy the smaller lids at usually charges $2.79 per box, so we saved quite a bit.

Freemotion said I could post here that I saved money today because I bought this same book today. Unfortunately I did not have a coupon but apparently that does not matter. LOL Free says it counts. So there you go. I spent money and its considered saving. Love that logic.

Not many people think to go to their local version of the dollar store for canning lids. They are a dollar. I stock up early in the season; sometimes they run out and sometimes there are plenty all season.
