I had a friend that had a 69 Chevelle that he had just completed. It was a gasser and he painted it red and had a guy paint 3 cherrys on a stem on each fender with WILD CHERRY under it. If you remember this song came out during the disco madness and a lot of people that like Rock had Disco SUCKS bumper stickers. My friend was very upset. Everyone thought he named his car that he spent 5 years on after WILD CHERRY. I always play this song for him when he's in my car.

Very familiar with the 69 Chevelles, ex DH rebuilt 2 Supersports. He dropped new engines in and fitted with headers. Those were fast cars! That was the first time I personally drove to 110 mph. We didn't have a song for the black one or the olive green one, lol.

Wyatt didn't have a song either. Just a cool name with a cool picture. Then that group came out. When I was 16 I had a red 66 Chevelle SS with the 375hp 396. I used to blow away a lot of Dodges and Plymouths with their 383's and 440's. We had a service road next to I70 that wa 1 way and in a warehouse district. Races every Friday night during the summer. The cops would sit in the shadows and watch. It kept us off the streets. Finally people started bringing in cars on trailers. 2 weeks later the cops raided the place and impounded all the cars and filled up the paddy wagons. I wasn't there thank god. I was only 16 at the time. I can't even imagine dragging on the streets anymore. Crazy stuff you do as a kid.
