Things are getting back to normal at my house and I am now more interested in cooking and whats for dinner.

Tonight was Asparagas with cheese, foil wrapped and grilled roasted potatos, deviled eggs and foil grilled steak cut into strips for faster cooking and of course homemade wheat bread with galic butter. Note: Dinner for me is not complete without a big glass of milk every night with only one exception. Spaghetti night requires a glass of wine.

we all ate different

Nicole slept late.....not sure what she will get later...tuna or something

Tony cut up a steak, stir fry and put in on a big roll with cheese......

Me, I had some leftover porkloin and just ate that alone.

no one really hungry...that kinda day...forage for yourself..HA HA....but I think in a bit I will be making brownies cause Tony is hunting thru the kitchen looking for something sweet. He is a brownie fan now...fresh is best.LOL

Roasted Root Bake.
Consists of small round red potatoes, carrots, parsnips, whole peeled onions, garlic cloves, cauliflower tossed in olive oil with rosemary and winter savory, s & p and baked in a closed dish until tender. I serve it with a grainy country dijon mustard on the side.
And a hard boiled egg.

Last night was chicken enchiladas, mexican fried rice, refried beans, and corn. (Good way to stretch out left over chicken) I made the hm tortillas, and refried beans from scratch.
Tonight dh will be working OT so it will be just me and the kids. I think we will have cream of brocolli soup and grilled cheese sandwiches.

Am I missing out on something with the dumplings? I made them once, and no one like them--slimy things. Did I do them wrong? They just reminded me of boogers. :sick I wanna like them but.........

on the dumplings

I SO AGREE with you. I wouldn't eat a dumpling if my life depended on it.....plus it is just white flour, and yuck, how bad is that to gum up the bodyworks..HA HA HA....and no real flavor that I can think of.

But Tony loves them, little slimy balls that they are! LOL

Notice I am eating a steak tonight. No dumplings for me either!!!! I have tried to make a better dumpling, but honestly, there ain't much to work with....so basic I guess that is it. I even asked Southern women about dumplings and from what I have seen, they are all the same kinda?????

I wonder if anyone out there has a secret to dumplings that I don't know about. :idunno
