Little village we moved from had their Summerfest this weekend. Was out and about, so swung by for some sausage, pepper, and onion sammies from the local producer food stand
we had veggie pizza (baked crecent rolls spread out flat, topped with cream cheese that has added ranch dressing mix plus some mayo, on top of that goes whatever sliced raw vegetables you like (our normal ones are broccoli, cauliflower and shredded carrots, with shredded cheese and bacon crumbles on top). i would also prefer a lot of raw onions but a lot of people complain about onions so Mom doesn't put them on any more. still good...
dessert was peanut butter pie.
not a complicated meal, but was appreciated by us and our friend who came over for a late lunch. we hadn't seen him for quite some time so it was good to catch up and then do a garden tour, talk and sit outside while the weather was perfect.
Will be pulled pork. I started around 5:30 this morning. Mostly did so hubby can have something he can eat at the cookout at work tomorrow. Everyone eating hamburgers and hotdogs it just wasn't right if he was stuck with pb&j sandwich. He was looking bummed out until I said I wanted to pick up a pork butt to smoke for him.
i finally made tapioca pudding yesterday and so that was the bulk of my dinner. cold and slightly sweet and my favorite vanilla. snacked on a few other things too and a slice of bread and butter.
today is looking like tomato chunks and noodles with some butter on them for lunch. gotta keep it light though because i still have to get back outside to finish planting what i've got ready to go.
Pudding sounds good tight now . None ready. And supper is iffy because I don't want heat from cooking better go scour the big freezer for any heat & eat tucked away.
Last night I ate raw zucchini slices, dipped in sour cream/garlic dip. And some canned pears. It's what I scrounged up . I need to do better! Maybe I'll go boil some eggs. Could grab a jar of canned chicken from pantry, too. No cooking today! just eat what's here & ready.
