Since it's cool and rainy today I decided to make some stew for dinner. The local supermarket played along by having cubed beef in their "Any 3 meat for e10" fridge. I made a mistake with the gravy though, I bought a "Meal maker" packet and had to listen for about 5 minutes to DS telling me all about how that completely ruined the meal lol I thought it was fine though, I enjoyed it.
I need a good not super spicy curry recipe to win over my curry-hating husband. Anyone? I love it but no one else in my house will eat it, so I never cook it. Sad for me!
Tonight is egg salad sandwiches and corn on the cob from my parents' garden. I don't feel like cooking and this meal was nearly all raised right here!
Company is gone... back to "real food". In house finally at 8 pm, after working outside all day. Supper was boxed Aldi's mac and cheese with tuna dumped in. Quick, fast, and in a hurry!
DS18 made supper.
I can post the recipe for the shrimp curry we had... it's full of flavor, but only mildly hot (and you could adjust the cayenne if it seems too spicy). I'll post it in the kitchen thread.
Late this afternoon we are having roast chicken with mashed potatoes, and some sort of vegetable for myself. My fiancé is strictly a meat and potatoes guy. Then I will make soup with the carcass and leftover meat, throw in some vegetables, and have this for one meal every day this week. Gotta love simplistic meals like that! Might even bake some bread while the soup is in the crockpot.
This is what I made a couple days ago, while my wife is away & having to fend for myself.
I made a whole-wheat crust and used our home-grown tomato sauce, onions, bell pepper, garlic, and (small) sliced zucchini. Can't take any credit for the olives, or the three kinds of cheese.
I got two night's supper out of it. I enjoyed the one pictured so much that I'll probably be making another one—pretty much the same but with mushrooms too.
