We do crab cakes when the lump crabmeat goes on sale.
I've been getting it at Costco. Actually not a bad price when you consider one container makes two meals. I can't remember now what I pay for it, but it comes in a tub already shelled. Can't beat the convenience.

That's where we get it. The refriderated cans. It does go on sale occasionally

I get the crab at Costco in plastic tubs in the meat case.

This is the recipe I use: https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/82347/best-ever-crab-cakes/

It comes out a little loose but will cook fine if you turn it gently. You could always put in more filler (ritz crackers) but I wanted a recipe that didn't use a lot of filler.

tonight was simple stuff. i meant to make macaroni and tomato chunks and have it ready for when Mom came home. she was driving in before i got started so she saved me from making it because she wanted boxed macaroni and cheese instead. i much prefer that when it is fresh made and not congealed yet so i scooped mine and ate it as soon as it was done while i was doing the dishes. she said she must have my recipe, it's right off the box, except add a little more milk and butter. i've eaten so many thousand tons of this in my life, but i can say for sure that i am not at all impressed by it any longer. the noodles are smaller, the cheese is barely tasted and it's pretty expensive considering you have to add the butter and milk and also cook the macaroni. so, i'll be not as interested in this meal in the future (we've not really made it very often in recent years as we make our own variations on mac-n-cheese).
