Where are all the lids???

I have seen "white rubber" like that before. Never used any. But all the jams and jellies in the grocery store have white "sealing gaskets" under those lids....

Did you try TATTLER for the reusable? They do still have stock available. I like them.
Also, a decent company is "FILLMORE" that sells bulk lids.... but they are out. Lehman's of course....

NOTHING coming from china that is going to be in contact with food..... remember melamine plastic ?????

Has anyone seen white sealant on lids before?

As @farmerjan says, many of the commercially packaged food lids have white.

One possible bright spot about the lack of canning supplies is: maybe some people that have never canned before are doing so now. Might mean a lot less hungry people later.

No, I have not tried tattler I guess because it is not something I have not tried in past and not sure of my canning skills to try.

ETA: I washed & sanitized about 30 jars yesterday and when handling them realized the Atlas, Kerr & Longlife Mason were not names I'm seeing of late. Looked on line and now I'm looking real close at them. These are old jars, excellent condition and I may be canning in $5-25 jars! I know these were from an oldsters shed, cleaned by heirs. At any rate, I think I gave them $10 bucks for the box. Not into collecting but, if any are worth the price of the entire box...a real plus! A couple may be. Who knew. The Atlas are now full of tomatoes and that would be a value to any eater!!! Normally I buy Ball, some are Golden Harvest.

I will see if I can find Tattler lids and try them, be prepared to answer a lot of questions Lol

I have had no problems with Gold Harvest but I am a beginner with canning meats, stews...
