FarmerChick,
Wyoming grows the best tasting elk a girl can imagine, I salivate just thinking about them. ;)
We are thinking about North Port or Sarasota, beautiful area and some really good schools.
I do miss the Wyoming mentality though, very laid back, here not so much:(
Thank you all once again for your replies, most helpful bunch of folks I've come across in long awhile.
We aim to please. And enable :D

Yeah, we had some culture shock when we moved to NJ. Everything from the accent to the way people drive. Like not yielding to oncoming traffic when making a left, and those stupid turn right to make a left roads.

Just put some jimmies on your water ice and head to the shore.

yea Jersey sure isn't laid back but I loved growing up there---it was different over 30 years ago since I left lol

I vacationed in the Sarasota area....very nice!

How much land are you searching for? Do you have a biz selling your tropical plants, like a store front/garden retail center?

We are looking for 5+ acres, we sell just online right now and are planning on going bigger after the move and opening a nursery.
Plans, plans, plans~ only God knows!

Hey, just saw this post.....one step at a time....pick one or two things you really want to do and go for it! We moved so we didn't get to do a garden this year and that killed me! Next year it is ON!

You could probably do rabbits or quail with little or no impact. At least then you could produce some of your own meat. You could always go in with someone for meat birds and raise them on someone else's property and split the cost. We had clients for our meat birds this year but we do have someone that may want to do it with us next year and split the cost.

If you know you want to move then do things that are moveable. You could do chickens in a tractor. When you move you take it with you. Same with rabbit hutches.

You could look at getting a milk share with someone that has a cow or goat.

Winter is the time of year when we all dream on here so stick around and you can pick up all kinds of ideas from here!!!

:D
