I wasn't thinking of it as a popularity contest, sheesh!

I was thinking it had a very Thanksgiving theme, since that is our upcoming holiday! Don't feel bad BB, you never know how threads will turn out! People say surprising things.

I didn't respond because I could never pick out just a few, there are so many cool people around these parts... folks that make me giggle or scratch my head, folks that make me gasp or take notes! Love all of you! :love

This place is like a tapestry with many colorful threads and many colorful weavers!

I searched a long while, but this place feels most like home. :love

Thanks to ALL here and behind the scenes that make this sharing community possible. :thumbsup

All of you. I might not post on everyone's threads but I try to at least glance at them. All of you have made a contribution one way or another.

Oh, and Gina makes good jam. :)

I haven't been on long enough to really get to know all of you, but I feel at home here. I spend more time on this forum than on any other that I belong to. Everyone on has has been extremely helpful and supportive. And, this is the only forum (w/the exception of a support group that I joined and very rarely post on) where someone else has MD. That means a lot to me.

What I'm most thankful about w/this forum.

1. I'm thankful for the younger people on here like Barredbuff and Blackbird. It's nice to see young people who are interested in this type of lifestyle.

2. Ok, not quite sure how to post this one since I don't want to offend those who don't share my beliefs. It's nice for me to see so many on here that share beliefs similar to mine. So often I feel out of place since I'm so different from those that I attend church with. Even in churches where there were more farm families, I still felt out of place. They were just interested in what they grew/raised, and not in this type of skill in general.

3. I'm thankful for the different experiences that people have shared, including mistakes! It gives me hope.

Same here, DD. No one in my church is doing this type of lifestyle and they seem to feel that intelligent people don't set themselves up for that much work. Especially the ladies....they would never turn their hand to manual labor of any kind~that is man's work.

They think I am crazy to grow and process my own chickens and garden....say they can get their food from the store with far less effort. :he
