I wish I was ready for quail again so I could help you out, but with 60 or so chickens, all sizes and ages, and 7 goats, then the kid and his medical issues, marital problems, and now a house to get ready to sell, I just can't.

But we loved quail eggs when we DID have quail! Hmmm... tasty.

I'm on my last couple latex-free bandaids. :p

I don't have much of a first kit at the moment. I haven't had enough spare money to stock it up.

Black Salve is the best! We always have a tub of it around.

WZ, in a pinch snuff and honey made into a paste will bring that boil right to a head. (I know - you don't have snuff at the house, right?)

My grandmother used to put the paste on me and leave it for awhile (can't remember how long. Then she would open the boil with a sterilized needle and take a thread folded in half and twirl it around the head of the boil until it was tight and pop it right out. (I had to go back and reword that - it conjured up visions of my grandmother twirling a thread around her head while dancing a jig - and she didn't dance).

Wallyworld had the PRID so I bought two containers. Gave one to hubby and the other is going in to the stash. I was going to find an old lady to dance around him but I didn't think he would go for that :D

Good Luck with the ouchies. I am now covered in rabbit scratches thanks to my does as I took mom out and let the 2 "runts" nurse by them selves. Only minor issues such as die flipped and tossed babies
And a chicken grabbed one and took off but we got it back no real visible damage but we shall see.

WZ - I haven't heard of Black Salve, but when I had bad case of recurring boils - like had to get surgery to remove several of them, a really hot tea bag held on with a washcloth will help pull them to the surface. Hurts like hell, but the darn things already hurt like hell and when they get to the surface and pop, sure feels better. A stiff drink before applying the hot tea bag helps, though!
