Nope, I don't agree...I NEED my sun too...whether it comes with hot humid days or well below freezing...as long as the sun is shining I can dress for the rest. Take my sun away though and I lose it:>)
Well we are expecting a big storm tomorrow and we just got an e-mail and a phone call from the school department that they are dismissing the kids before noon tomorrow so as to get the kids home before the storm hits.
Another storm was predicted for Sunday as well.
I know the kids will be excited for the snow but not me.
We have tickets for the Polar Express this Sunday night.
It runs out of New Hampshire which has already been hit with snow and ice storms this past week and alot of people don't have power.
I hope its not too bad at least to the part we are going to.
THe kids are ecstatic and so am I to be going on that train ride.
The tickets are drawn by lottery every year and its always completely sold out.
My name got drawn this year and we were able to purchase tickets.
You drive to the train station and everyone wears their pajamas and then you ride a train that is a replica of the Polar Express and they reenact the whole story on board on the way to the North Pole, with hot cocoa and all that.
Once at the North Pole you meet the little boy from the story who is now an old man and he reads the story of the Polar Express to the kids and then Santa comes and hands out a Christmas bell to all of the children.
It would have to be pretty bad snow to keep me from this.
We woke to another day in the teens, but as the day passed, it warmed to the 20s and is climbing. Then the storm hits (midnight)-snow, rain, ice, sleet, snow. Just another day of cold crazy weather - that's living in Indiana.
Hope all is well with everyone with this storm system. It's suppose to cover a large area. Stay safe and warm.
Friday's storm wasn't as fierce as predicted. We got plenty of ice with many closings, but we didn't lose electric power as uaual here. We were prepared for the worse just the same.
We have a few branches to clear once the ice melts some. Thankfully, that's the extent of the damage. The thick layer of ice on top of the snow sure makes it difficult to walk. Poor cows have a terrible time moving around. The chickens almost glide as they skate over the top.
Take care all those that were/are in the path of that storm.
We got about a foot last night and it's still snowing today, supposed to get another inch or two. At least it's light and easy to move, Sunday night we're supposed to get more, but at the end of that storm we're getting rain and then a hard freeze, that's going to be fun to get rid of!
We were in the 50s yesterday, supposed to be in the 30s today. But it's been cloudy cloudy cloudy. I don't think I've seen more than a peek of the sun in over a week! Thursday I got out one of my "sun" light bulbs & I'm basking in fake sunlight right now. It always amazes me that it does make a difference!
what is a sun light bulb? Is it different than any old light bulb? Just wondering.....I know people use lights to enhance their moods etc. but I didn't know there was a special light?????
