It’s so true! We really do measure distance by how many hours it takes to drive there. Anything at 3 hours or less is considered a short trip. Don’t ask how many miles, I don’t know. 😃

having taken the southern route to NM many times driving through northern TX and the surrounding states, yeah, i remember...

short trips for me used to be six hours or less. the normal drive from up north to down here was 8-10hrs and sometimes twice as long in storms. no, i'm not doing that kind of driving any more. my body protests too much.

it is pretty easy on me to do in terms of mental state. i can find things to think about that keep me amused or entertained.

i still have memories of driving by a burning vehicle along the shoulder of the road in TX or OK. there was nobody there, there wasn't even much smoke, just clean flames and the open hood, in late summer, grasslands all around bone dry... i did not pass a single police or emergency vehicle. if i don't see you - you don't see me i guess.

Nobody knows. We always took the back 40 to go to party in Austin from Kileen Fort Hood, lol Everything is a long drive in Texas. Always got caught in the round-about down south to get North and jeez! Don't mention which 35N to go to Dallas airport, 🤣😂 there are 2 35N. One west of Dallas and the other one east of Dallas.
