    Senate Bill 510

Passing this on, you may act on it if you wish. The Federal Government at the behest of big agricultural and pharmaceutical interests has been doing its best to kill access to healthy food from local farmers, all the while appearing to support it. The biggest threat to your access to food from...

Anyone have the kitchenaid mixer attachments? use as food processor?

I have a KSM90 mixer, with a multi-function attachment pack: I use the strainer attachment to make tomota puree and love it. You can process alot of tomatoes at one time. I used my shredder to shred zuc to freeze and liked it as well. I have not used the food grinder attachment.

    Health Insurance

Part of the reason private insurance rates are going up is because private insurance is being charged a higher rate by the doctors/medical professional to help cover the costs for those medicaid and medicare patients. The states can't afford the real costs and only pays (40 - 60%?) of the true...

up here in lalaland ~ Tennessee here we come!

So sorry to hear that. It was probably the correct decision but it didn't make it any easier. Please allow yourself to grieve, she was part of your family for so long. It is amazing how attached we become to our pets over the years.

Blackbird's SS Journal - Country to City

Hi BlBird, If you have to declare a business, I would do a sole proprietor/doing business as (DBA) business. Less forms/taxes to pay and your federal/state income tax rate should be less since you are a student with no other income. As long as you keep track of your expenses, you can use your...

Ohio - If you can get to your account for the library on the internet, can you renew that book to avoid the fine? Then take it back at your convenience. When I can't find a book I renew it online and in 3 weeks I found it and turned it back in. Just a thought.

    Double Dip Recession?

The increase in GDP in the first and second quarter of this year (hence technically out of the recession) was "fake" because it was all government subsides (sp?). Since that can't be maintained (no the government can't print money forever - China has stopped buying it!) and it didn't come from...

    Cost of keeping a cow

I wanted a cow but after thinking . . . . goats are much easier (though I don't have any yet). You need to figure out how you are going to get that cow bred each year. Also, you will have to dry her up prior to breeding so then you won't have any milk - therefore, really need two! :) Have you...

up here in lalaland ~ Tennessee here we come!

Tanks- we were late this year as well (didn't know to do it :(). My garden supply store said before anything blooms. When we figured out the problem, they said to spray now (this was in July) and spray again 2 weeks later. Have to spray below 80 degrees which was a challenge here in July. I...

up here in lalaland ~ Tennessee here we come!

lala- We had the yellowing of the fruit trees leaves this spring and it turned out to be fungal rust and may have killed them. We didn't treat with copper sulfate early enough (the other stuff I won't use because it has been linked to killing bees but I can't think of the name of it). I put...

That was the one thing I hated when I lived on well water - no power, no water. Started filling up the washing machine and bath tubs just to have it especially when big storms were forecasted. Glad it was only a short time, having been there and done that! Are your bees the native bees or...

I found a peach salsa receipe in the ball book that has peaches, red onion (doesn't state Vidalia though) and red bell pepper. Also jalapeno peppers, hone, garlic cilantro. If this sounds familiar I will post the whole receipe.

    I NEED A BUYER!!!!!!!!!!

The three most stressfuls events in one's life is: death in the family, divorce and selling house (not in any particular order). Do what you can and remember if is was meant to happen it will. As far as cleaning the house - you can slide for a whole year because you already have put in your...

Not sure if it is a hatchery or an egg farm to some news organizations - meaning is the same? Two people died when the roof collapsed, 3 others were able to crawl out - all due to straight line winds.
