Whoa Bee that's looking good! Y'all are going to have lots of room for extra storage. That is how we build, a little at a time. Dooley is so cute! How's his training coming?
Thanks @TexasLisa. This app wasn't on my phone, I have an Iphone 4s. It doesn't even get updates anymore, but it was on my DH's. The app wasn't on though.
Never heard of this. I always thought dry canning was putting dry goods (beans, flour, rice) or dehydrated fruit/veggies in jars and either canning in the oven or using a vacuum sealer. Let us know how it turns out please?
Gov Abbot closed bars, limited restaurant seating to 50%, closed down the river rafting and banned outdoor gatherings of over 100 people unless approved by local officials.
We have some restaurants that have never opened back up to inside dining. They are still drive thru or pick up only.
Picked green beans, cucumbers and finally tomatoes! They weren't fully ripe, but brought them in to ripen in the house. Also weeded my 2 tomato beds.
@flowerbug - I hope she continues to improve!
My thoughts exactly!!
Sure seems funny that "they" know 4 months in advance when the next shutdown will be. I hope there's not one. I don't think our economy can handle another shutdown.
Sooner or later everyone is going to either come into contact and get covid, or else take the vaccine if/when it becomes available. In the meantime, take the precautions that you feel you need to, but get on with life. We can't stay hold up in our homes for the next year or so waiting on a...
Tied my tomatoes up this morning. Main stems are tied as high as I can go, just have the suckers to tie up as they grow. I have a few starting to turn. Can't wait to taste them.
Cut about 2 feet off of my marigolds. They had gotten taller than my tomatoes which are taller than my cattle panels...
Watered the garden and my potted plants. We haven't had any rain for over 2 weeks, well, we did get about 10 sprinkles yesterday morning! Picked some green beans, cucumbers and squash. I have a couple of tomatoes starting to pink up!
Tied up my 2nd row of tomatoes today. They are already reaching the top of the cattle panel, so the taller they get they'll just have to hang over the other side. Lots of tomatoes on them. The ones out in the garden are Mule Team. New one for me, but so far they are looking good. I have some...
Let's see, I put up 7 qts of green beans Saturday, and 5 qts today. Also put up 26 pints of bone broth today, 10 of turkey & 16 of chicken. Trying to get my freezer cleaned out.
My raised beds are a life saver for me. My ra doesn't really like me bending to the ground trying to plant.
I wouldn't mind have some in ground rows of crowders & purple hulls. I just don't think I could do them by myself.
This!!!
I wear a mask when I have to. But then, I only leave the house when I need to. I've always been that way. I'd much rather be at home than out shopping.
When I have a mask on, I'm always having to fix it so that I can breathe. It feels like I'm suffocating and the longer I wear the...
I pulled the rest of my onions. Only ones left are the ones with flowers. I'm usually not very good at growing onions, they never get very big. This year I have some really nice sized ones. I'm hoping to save the seeds to plant next year.
I picked a few cucumbers. Used them in my salad tonight...
I went out early this morning and picked 8 quarts of rattlesnake green beans. Left plenty on the vines to pick in a couple of days. This is my 4th (?) year planting from saved seed. They seem to get better every year.
Pulled up a few more onions that had fallen over. Also dug up my elephant...
