WZ hit it on the head. Get his book - myabe your local public library has it and you can borrow it for free! ;)
We haven't listened to him on the radio. We have just borrowed his books from the library. Easy to folllow, plain English. I talked so much to friends and family having...
Having been there, remember no matter what they say now.... they are *his* parents.
I'm just saying ... I have been down that road and it can get mighty ugly. You are at in-laws and all of a sudden you're the bad guy cause their precious son wants to bring the new wife and grandkids home...
I noticed that on some of your bee pics QA...... ;)
Our camera just deletes the date when you change the battery. You can't take pictures again until you reset the date and time.
I have been there and my advice would be think things through thoroughly and don't do anything based on your emotions. Every decision you make has to be in the best interest of your children and you. Some day the children will be grown and on their own. They will see how you and your husband...
I lurk a lot....
I think we all need the break now and then.
I journal in a word document on my computer every day in real life. It helps me keep focused on what is important to me and my immediate family. I keep track of things like my prayer journaling, Bible devotions, what...
Most of the beeks I know that have that many hives have extra equipment sitting around just waiting to be needed.
You can borrow a hive body. If he doesn't have a spare bottom board or top cover, duct tape window screening over the bottom of the hive body, place the frames he gives you...
Yes, like a nuc. Except Earl said his experience (as queen breeder) shows that this time of year a nuc is going to cost you plenty. So a beek friend with a number of strong hives would probably be your best bet. Give them the frames you remove from your hive and their colony will have them built...
valmom, these are my opinions, and maybe someone else will jump in here.
An agressive hive is sometimes an indication that your colony is not queenright.
You have a lot of burr comb on the sides, tops and bottoms of the frames. This should be removed on all the frames in the hive. All the...
Wow, Pam, between you and QA, I am starting to feel sorry I had such a good day! j/k
I hope your routine gets back to normal quickly! Thank God you weren't driving on 11 when the brakes/tire went!
No we don't anymore. When we lived in Houston, I think we ate chicken every day. And then I started reading about commercial/industrial chicken farming....and haven't since.
And it is really hard to eat someone who you've lullabied to sleep on your lap.
Sure, Sure. Blame it on me that you bought 10 birds to add to your downsizing project. :P What I *really* said was.... "If nothing else, they'd make some nice Thanksgiving dinners." The acoustics in that place are awful!
