We have ALOT of basil and oregano left from last year. This year we planted dill and 2 basil plants because they were gifted to me. Dont really need much else. The wife has some mint, oregano, and rosemary planted in pots. Im thinking of transplanting the rosemary to the garden because its perennial and will help keep all the soil alive this winter.

Seems we planted less this year and have reeped more. Its been good. Got a freezer full of corn, a bin full of potatoes, 20 sum jars of carrots, a bucket full of garlic, a bushel of onions, and the regular green beans are just now starting to make. Okra should really be taking off by next month. Gardening is getting a little bit easier.

They grow massively long. I find the flavor to be "different" than the GB we are used to. Longer maturity date. The one year I grew the purples, I was totally fascinated by the structure of the plant, the difference between the way the pods are set and carried, blossoms are VERY different: YL vs. standard GB. And noted that ants were always crawling all over the vines, apparently sucking nectar off the stems of the beans. The ants did no harm, but I don't recall seeing that with standard GB. I had to knock ants off before picking. Have you noted the ants, @Chic Rustler ?

If you've not tried the YL beans, give it a try, simply for the novelty of trying something different. I find that I must try something new every year. Whether it be a new variety, completely new veggie, or a new growing method. It keeps gardening fresh for me.

Nothing really seems to harm them. They are super easy and very prolific. We still have 10 qts left from last year. Some of my kids really like them. I dont care for them much, but we always eat all of our vegetables or momma wont let us have desert
