Round 2 was also nice.

My dad SO gets me. At the end of the night he said he was surprised I lasted so long without a meltdown and said I did a really good job tonight. LOL!!!

I got $100, a free movie pass, and $15 at itunes! woot! Total score.

And everyone was polite. I bullied my way into the kitchen because my step mom tried to not want help. Pfffff. Also helped clean up so nyah nyah.

I just avoided all the steps and babies. The NEPHEW :gig and I played chase until my heart murmur gave out on me hahaha. That was fun. And I played 3 games of pool with my dad. We're at equal level. We've each now won 2 games and the loser hasn't had more than 2 balls on the table. We both suck :D EQUALLY! That makes it pretty fun.

Apparently the ummm... what's the word for relatives who aren't immediate family? Like my dad's brother and sister in law and their kids? They'll be out next week so I gave my dad my schedule.

ALSO!!! I made my dad crack up. I turned down alcohol all night. I had 3 truffles and sugared myself out hahaha. BUT.... he opened a cupboard over the fridge.... and three rows of alcohol back I spotted the MacAllen. So we did shots. He wasn't sure what to think about me going straight for the good scotch with such enthusiasm. I only had a half shot and sipped it. I almost NEVER drink during a cascade since these tend to shut down my liver. It IS achy >.>

So I'll have to baby it. But OMG I love MacAllan and it was 12 year and YUUUUUM!

I offered my sister some ebooks for her new Nook. If she remembers, I'll get those to her and buy her a cover for it (my dad had a duplicate of a crock pot cookbook for her so I opted against getting her a second). If she drops me back off her radar, her loss. And I'm not out the money LOL. Up to her!!

Lessee... I'm sure there were funny stories but I hung out with my dad and ignored the rest of them. Now, I WAS horrified that they all wanted SWEET WINE with HAM. omg. Ham is sweet. You can't DO that. But they opted for Reisling because I think step mom was swayed by my dad's and my horror. LOL.

Also, my five year old nephew won Wii bowling on his first game against my sister hahaha. That was pretty cool. He's a goofy kid. Cuz he's five.

The babies didn't cry. I told my dad I was afraid "those babies would be noisy and cry and I'd freak out" lol. My step mom was offended I think because she said "those BOYS are good BOYS and the BOYS don't just fuss" and was very louder on the BOYS. So I said that screechy sound just makes me irate. I deal better with toddler meltdowns than that horrid baby noise. She left the room but my dad agreed with me that high pitched noises are pretty rough on my ears. He's pretty cool.

I made a couple spectacular shots in pool. I've now played 14 games. *beams*

When we all realized the ham didn't HAVE a bone... I kindly offered my dad the bone (until then I'd begged and he said he was using it for bean soup LOL). He and I are able to joke around.

So I think both visits went really well!!!!

The scotch surely helped. LOL. It smoothed the noise of the present opening. I was very pleased that only dad and step mom got me anything. I'm so against the holiday forced gift exchange!

Oh yeh. My mom aid that my brother's wife wanted my address for a gift or something but my mom either didn't have it or told her not to? Not sure which. Anyway, told my mom I was glad because I don't know my brother or his wife so I would feel weird about a gift from them. I mean, free loot, but what the heck for?

So that was my holiday.

I invited my step dad out on my traditional New Year's eve Chinese food dinner hahaha.

I think I smell weird from the cascade. Amira continuously sniffs my arms when I have them and I know they end up smelling like bile. Prolly shouldn't have had any alcohol but pffff... I drink maybe once a year. And it was soooo good LOL.

Abi, I don't think I've ever known anyone as "in-tune" with the workings of their body. I know when mine hurts, or is something isn't "right" but you realize what is going on internally. I'm in awe. (Yes, you're awesome). :bow

I'm glad your holiday family gatherings worked out for you.

And - your father's brother is your uncle and his kids are your cousins.

Maybe "extended family" is the word you were looking for?

hee hee. It took very many years. Auntie is the one who timed the cascades for me. But I'm a control freak. I just turn it ALL internally. Everyone else can do whatever, but I have to know EVERYTHING about me. It's all about MEEEEE! heh.

Thank you!! Me too :) Firm limits = happy holidays!

Ooooh! Right. Cousins!!! Adopted family is SO much easier to track. They come in siblings, aunts, and nieces/nephews. I don't have adopted uncles. LOL. "Uncle" creeps me out. I have big brothers.

And yeh Auntie... "extended family". *beams*

Why are there so many family words? Don't even try to get me to guess on 1st cousin removed things LOL.

We were just discussing what in the heck "once removed" means.

We were trying to describe the relationship when two young ladies are cousins and one has a baby. The one that is not the mom is ______ to the baby? First cousin once removed?....we decided "family" was good enough.

I actually have an aunt who is my age and an uncle (passed away this year) who was 3 years younger than me. My cousins kids have grown up and I keep wanting to call them my cousins and when they were young they kept trying to call me Aunt. It is confusing isn't it? :idunno
