SATURDAY auntie. *I* work Sundays. LOL.

And yes :)

*twirls* Auntie loves my plo-ot! Auntie loves my plo-ot!

I woke up hungry so I'm up. I started my Friday chores so that I'll be all done before we go for milk. Cacao nibs on the pb truffles. White chocolate on the mint. So I can tell them apart.

*beams*

I have to hit a liquor store today! *giggles*

I was thinking of abifae the other day when I went to Texas Roadhouse. The background noise was almost enough to send me outside.

I can understand the overstimulation in today's society. I think soft quiet soothing music can help but it has to be really quiet.

Yeh. I wake up to classical music and that's all that plays all day unless I'm needing something specific.

Like for dance, or yoga, or I want more stim.

For some reason I posted it on my truffles thread.

I was TIRED.

Just got back from the mom visit. My blood related sister was on her best behavior, and we got on well enough. We mostly ignored each other :D

She actually got me a present! I was really surprised. I got warm slippers and gloves. My mom got me toe socks, in addition to getting dance shoes!!

We ate. Everything was really good. Everyone liked my cranberry sauce :D

Her ... son's daddy? They're still good friends. ... Anyway, sending him here. He is a total SS sort! Couldn't believe he hadn't been here yet.

My roommie came with and my mom got him a gift card and a book light. So he scored prezzies too. It was nicely low key.

The kid was a typical five year old at Christmas LOL. Better mannered than most, luckily. But it was pretty noisy, nonetheless.

A good time was had by all. No fights. All the awkward silences were caused by my sister (and she hates how "weird" I am?!?). Intentionally. I guess it's fun when she does it, but annoying if anyone else does?

And my roommate thinks it is odd that the vast majority of conversation my relatives carry on consists of insults and mean comments. Which, since my sister was the only one playing, was all carried out by her LOL. That amused me greatly. Everyone joins in at my dad's though. So that'll be fun tomorrow. roll

I promised her and her kid's dad truffles at the thingy tomorrow. :hu

What do you call the father of your sister's kids? Especially when they're still fully involved in the kids life. They just don't get along as an actual couple.

Found out that makes him my NEPHEW... so my nephew's dad. *sighs*

Why you laughing at me?!?

I'm going to put the truffles as a proper well written recipe on food.com once I finish :)

Then everyone who wants can print it LOL

Lessons learned today:

When dipping chocolate, just dip the damned chocolate. Messing with it over works it and makes it solidify.

Chopsticks are great to pick up truffles but when they get soft, it's time to swap out the batch in the freezer for the batch you are working with. Frozen truffles = dipping win.

Chocolate coating goes fine over cacao nibs!! I dipped the rolled ones :D

Not so much over shredded coconut, but that might have just been the extreme lack of chocolate left in the pot at that point.

Cacao nibs and espresso beans grind together just dandy in the coffee grinder. And are awesome to roll Kahlua truffles in!!!

You should drizzle chocolate AFTER everything is solid and you can nestle them together. It's much easier to drizzle 36 truffles than one at a time!

Here in the big city they call him "da baby daddy"! Your lesson in ghetto speak for Christmas.

I have the same trouble with my sisters live in man. I mean he is not her hubby, "significant other" sounds too politically correct for my tastes, "lover" sounds tacky, and any one that has lived with and owns property with, and has cleaned the butt of his woman's FATHER deserves more than boyfriend status.

I tried "significant other-in-law" for a while but gee... too long. :hu

Baby Daddy sounds retarded.

LOL

He isn't a live in. They are friends, but that's all. They both date others. They are both very involved with the child. So he is definitely a dad :) Baby Daddy makes me think of someone not involved, you know? He knocked me up and took off.

But Nephew's Daddy works LOL. I forgot Paxson and I were related. Via the sister. *giggles*
