Weslee has only been "diagnosed" with autism, OCD and his math learning disability since this past March (already knew he was ADHD), I'm still really learning about all of this, and his quirks and what is just being a teen and what is due to these diagnoses. It's easy to realize that sometimes these docs are just lumping everything "undiagnosable" into the "autism spectrum". Just like for a while, it was ADD/ADHD for every kid who wouldn't sit still. All of it is really subjective, still, at this point.

Now ... what's this about a spectrum necklace?!?!?!

I think one would be cool :D

I have a lot of different jewelry making stuff. I'll see what I can think of next time I get some crafting time.

Exactly. I was diagnosed childhood schizophrenic. Now that doesn't exist. Autism is overdiagnosed to get kids' insurance to cover more programs. It isn't clearly defined yet because no one knows what it is lol. I think someday you will get diagnosed by brain scan...

In the meantime, we are spectrum together!

:he I am having MAJOR issues getting this damned 8 yards of fabric gathered onto the 4 yards. It shouldn't be hard. I think I'm just stupid. I'm going to take it all apart and do it differently.

One of the pieces of garb I've been working on is waiting on me to get the hang of gathering like that. Grrrrrr. I was almost done then the fuller skirt wouldn't attach to the top right. I feel better know. Since your sewing skills are way better than mine, :bow if you get challenged by this part- that process is just a pain in the "rear".

My issue is with sequencing. It should be VERY simple.

The longer piece is exactly two lengths of the shorter. I just cut straight across the same width of fabric.

SO ... I am going to mark off every 10" on the bigger and every 5" on the smaller, and just gather in smaller pieces :D

That should work.

I always take a few tries to figure out the most effective way. If this works, I shall do them all this way. Actually the longer is shorter by about 6", but it's over 8 yards long, so it won't be noticeable enough to matter.

And gathering IS a pain in the rear. lol. But I'll get through it. This is only three tiers. And I should have at least 3 hours tomorrow in which to mess with it. Should go MUCH faster doing it the way I've envisioned. >.>

At worse, I won't have the petti done til the next party, but I think I can manage it. I got it done INcorrectly in only 30 minutes :D I can hand sew gathers into only 10" VERY fast.

Hey! It is all about context, communication, right? You have to know the elements to eke out meaning?

And reality is a communication between you and the world. So isnt there some element of context required to sort out reality?

Am I right on this? It sounds logical...

I'm often surprised at how well you communicate, and often wonder why i seem to understand you so well. At other times i am clueless as to what is going on in your brain.
