Isn't that the beauty of sewing yourself, you can suit it to fit you? Clothes don't fit me right usually. I'm so short.

It will be once I learn more pattern adjusting.

Really, I'm not doing badly. I just find it stressful because I cannot fit on myself and Auntie hasn't made me a dummy yet ;)

Also, it's very stress relieving to throw fits.

They normally are. But he realized how hypocritical it all was and stepped down. <3

So, utter success. I have a muslin dress ready to be dyed. Doing "Crystal Wash Technique". I just want to add something lacy at the bottom. Since I cannot afford lace.... maybe I can gather tulle like crazy and stick it on the bottom? Or perhaps sew a tube out of the same fabric, dyed, and gather it on to the bottom?

I have the pattern to cut the dragonfly :)

Why not hold out a while and take a trim to the local thrift store? I have scavenged MANY yards of lace there. ;)

You won't find it in a bin ... it will be ON some frilly lacy garment that is begging to get salvaged. :D

I often go there looking for "parts".

I wish I knew. Fitting is not my strong point. For me getting a good fit means trying on many, many things in the dressing room. Almost all the clothes I've made were for SCA and were made for comfort. I'm putting off doing a cotehardie till I can find a way to cheat.

Starting this autumn, I'll be taking fitting classes. I cannot wait.
