You can make my cotehardie then. It seems like too much hassle to me.
Just joking. These fit tight enough that it would never work without the person actually being there. I wouldn't subject anybody to doing that many buttons either.

>.> I'm really good at buttons and buttonholes. I'm good at handsewing.

But yeh... form fitting requires a form to fit :D

They used up to 30 buttons. :hide I don't do buttonholes. I was thinking about cheating and doing lacing instead when I finally do one. I'll also have to have an enemy take all the measurements. I can't have a friend do it, cause I'd have to kill the person afterwards. Top secret information, after all. :hide

It is period to use a button strip. The strip has the buttons. You can do loops or button holes on BOTH sides of the cotehardie. And if you make another, you use the same button strip for both.

VERY period.

I get tired of sewing on buttons though and edging button holes is not fun for me. I was gonna really cheat and use something like this stuff:

It should work fine since it would be for occasional use and I wouldn't be lacing it near as tight as a corset. Being able to get dressed by myself is nice too. Most of the ladies that wore a million buttons had servants to do them up.

Lacing tape is WONDERFUL! Pounding grommets is fun, but I tend to lose too many of them. Or they break but they're in too tight to get out and tear the fabric, so then I have to whip stitch to cover it and by that point... why are we bothering again???

I missed the choose a picture party. I was in Creede, CO for three weeks. I would have suggested your River Tam photo.

Oh! That one isn't saved on my photobucket so I'd forgotten about it entirely! What page is it on? I should add it to my collection!

So did any of the appetite stimulant suggestions help?

It's so far I don't know what page is even close. I just remember boots and I think a red dress.
