The Illusion of Asymmetric Insight

*beams* My friend Joe gave this to me and said "you may be one of the very few people who might not be as infected with the asymmetric ilusion as the rest of us" because I want a catastrophe that ends humans, and I happily include myself.

Boogity's thread was fascinating on that. I want TS to HTF only if it knocks humans back outta the chain. LOL. I don't want it just for a shake up because history has well proven that does no good. We're a horrid species. 90% hubris, 10% effort. And most of that effort goes to knocking each other down, not improving ourselves. :p

All this frontal lobe and what do we do with it? Create the stock market.

Although indoor plumbing rocks. I do love my hot running water and no feces in the streets.

OMG That was SO FUN!!!

I was very uncomfy touching the live ducks til I'd killed a few and cut them up, but now I feel better about them and I think I could hold a live one.

*beams*

I am very good at cutting and bleeding them. *proud*

I figured out how to cut the wings and legs quickly too, but auntie was far better at the head and bottom removals.

GOOD! *laughs*

The plum sauce is doing its simmer to soft enough to puree.

The blackberry jam is finished (and all popped). (We did 4 pints and will do another 4 of mixed berries with the last tray of blackberries and the bag of mixed fruit.)

Doing the chutney tomorrow since it's 10 now. :)

What causes blood to not hold on to minerals and metals?

I cannot hold iron in my blood. If you taste my blood, it tastes like unsweetened cherry kool aid (per Dar, and this hasn't changed with the improvement of diet).

So there is no coppery taste, no iron taste. Sometimes there IS salt. If I'm a bit dehydrated. That's it.

I'm assuming I'm still not absorbing right. *sighs*

Actually I know I'm not absorbing right, but I cannot figure out what I'm still missing. I'm getting DrRon's FCLO on my next paycheck.

Any guesses? It's the "take random wild guesses about why Abi's blood tastes like koolaid!"... I swear I'd starve any poor vampire to death.

Ferrous fumarate is terrible about absorption.
I don't know what version you usually use- but if you need a supplement for it try chelated iron, sometimes called iron glycinate. Much easier on the gut and gets absorbed into the body better. Having some vitamin C with your iron helps your body absorb it too.

I've never supplemented with pills. I take one and wanna vomit, so it seemed silly pointless. I eat extra liver, and spinach, molasses... And try to get my iron up that way.

Amira is home from the vet and a bit loopy from the drugs. No extractions :) Her teeth were sound under the tartar. They had to scale though. I imagine she'll want just wet food for a few days. She has antibiotics and I have extra probiotics. :)

So my little trooper! The vet said she was very well behaved.

I prefer herbs to pharmaceutical drugs, but figured I'd pass along the info.

Amira sounds really great. A loopy cat can be pretty amusing. Grab a string or a laser pointer and watch the show. They are a little more likely to run into the wall though.

I am so glad Miss Amira is home safe and sound. She should be back to her old bossy self in no time.
