I am pretty fast and efficient at dosing most cats, but when they are super difficult to dose I bring out the sweatshirt!

I stick my arm in the sleeve of a small sweat shirt, grab the cat at the scruff and pull my arm out and the cat in! If you do it correctly you end up with the cat completely in the sleeve except for it's head. ;)

Sleeves....

I gathered it in like it said.

No sleeves, movement was fine, not too tight across the back...

Sleeves in, I cannot move.

Where do I need more fabric? I am thinking I need to measure the armsice and just like full circle it and let it drape however. Would that work? It would let me ignore all measurements :D

eta: Not that I understand pattern drafting at all yet, but it looks like the CAP needs to be deeper. *nods wisely as though this makes sense* But I can remove the entire tapering issue, I think maybe, with that full circle version instead. No idea where to place the circle to allow for over and under armsice, but hey, that's why I have chalk, right? I can just do it all one size, attach it, and chalk where it should go? :D In other words, going medieval style when they just clumped big chunks of fabric on and let it hang. *giggles*

Or I'll just not do sleeves. Which might be the easiest way. Just hem the holes.

Sorry it didn't fit. I don't have any other suggestions. I've never had the ability to adjust a pattern. Did you snip, snip around the excess seam allowance after it was sewn in? That might give it a little "give" if it's too tight around the arm hole. But if it's too tight through the back, I don't know.

I usually pin or baste the sleeves in BEFORE I close the side seams. After the sleeve is properly set I sew the side seam and close the sleeve seam at the same time.

Sleeves are a challenge. Pull those big girl panties on and rise up to meet the challenge head on! As many things as you alter sleeves will be an easy conquest! ;)

KC, I don't even get it. Shoulder to shoulder is too tight. Above the shoulder bags and bunches. *baffled*

Sewing makes you realize bodies are stupid shaped. *laughs*

FF, yeh... I normally do too. *giggles* I wasn't really thinking about this as a WHOLE. I was thinking in parts. So for now, they are sleeveless, but I made a shrug!!! I had a stretch lace t-shirt that I cut up the front, added a button at the middle, and serged a gentle curve into. *beams* It was too tight after I grew, but the bit of stretch over to button doesn't look off with the rest cut up. It has give now.

The reason all my dresses so far don't have sleeves is because I can't figure them out. If you could just trace the armhole, I'd be fine. Instead it's this weird inside out thingie. *goes back to T-tunics*

Even on bought patterns, the armholes never set right. And the weird "shoulder spread is too tight and above that too loose" thing gets to me. Also, it always bunches in the front of the armhole. I always have to take in a dart. Stupid body. I really hate sewing unless it goes perfectly. *sighs*

But I'm taking fitting classes online this autumn. We'll see how that goes. I am a TERRIBLE student. *laughs*

eta: OH HEY! Petal sleeves!!! They don't ... connect as much. Right? So might tug less? I found a tutorial . *giggles* Okay, scratch that. There is no fabric scrap big enough to do anything with for the dragonfly dress. The other is just muslin and I hand dyed it. If I can get something to work, I can redye sleeves easily enough but really, it seems like an annoying headache at this point so I'll go sleeveless til I take my class

Bush's Tragic Legacy

It's fun to see how others view us. Although I find this disturbing:

The US has become estranged from the rest of the world. It is partly its own fault, but the rest of the world also shares some of the blame -- because many only see America as a perpetrator, and no longer regard it as a victim.
So.... we can only be huggy lovey with others if we are a victim? How... modern.

And another opinion piece .

It's something that pops up on Der Speigel articles. A great story will be going on and then BAM!! A line of two of totally crap opinion about the US is slipped in there are fact.

Well, most people do get off on being victims. It's why I got kicked off of all the survivor groups and even crazyminds. Or whatever that one was. *laughs* Not so big on "hoorah for victims!" here.

It's part of the entitlement mentality. You are a victim so you are owed.
