SD, I would LOVE having a friend who worked at a Thai restaurant to teach me to do it right!!

Honestly, if I had the spare money, I'd go to Johnson & Wales .

Jamie, all growing up my dad had a rule that we had to try new stuff. You had to taste one bite of everything served, and when we'd do groceries, we had to pick one food we'd never seen before. :)

Garlic dip? Recipe please :D

My daughter went to culinary school. Being a chef isn't all it is made out to be. It is very hot in the kitchens, very hostile environment. Usually low-paid as well, unless you are really lucky. Master Chef and Hell's Kitchen it is not. I love those shows though!

After completing her two-year course, she wanted to be a restaurant manager, not a chef anymore. While she is a great cook, that was an expensive lesson for her. She is currently a cocktail server because she makes more in one weekend than she could working all week as a chef.

Which is why I only wanna go to learn more and have fun, not to become a chef LOL.

You'll notice cooking is NOT on my career list ;)

Dang, guess we need to cancel the loft construction above the garage for the cook's quarters. :/

Do you watch the cooking shows? I love them, even though I'm not a good cook. I think watching them is making me better. My favorites besides the Chef Ramsey ones are Lidia's Italy, Rachael Ray and the Julia Child baking ones. The recipes I tend to try are the Julia Child ones, but Rachael Ray has given me a few ideas for how to throw together quick, good dinners, which is one of my major cooking chores.

Jamie, I'll cook in exchange for room and board ;)

So I guess I'll amend that cooking isn't on my career list. Keep building.

SD, I love cooking shows :D Some are online.

Abi, you are a rockstar - the garlic pepper dipping sauce is out of this world. Dipping deep fried potato chunks in it now.

I will be taking some to work tomorrow for my "salsa crew". You may get a marriage proposal from one of those guys, just sayin'.
