BBrooks - I, too, question the Asperger's diagnosis with as much as the BIL lies. My son will tell a lie, but has told on himself (not intentionally) usually within about 5 minutes - it's great!
Example - say he was told to pick up stuff off his bedroom floor. He comes back 5 minutes later "Okay, I'm done."
"So if I go look under your bed, you didn't shove it underneath"
"No, ma'am"
"Okay then, go make your bed, and I'll come check in a few minutes"
(couple more minutes, comes out to say that the bed is made)
"Okay, I'm done making the bed, but it took longer b/c I had to move the dirty clothes from underneath the edge"
:But I thought you'd already put those in the laundry since you said you didn't put anything under the bed?"
"Oh... well, NOW there really isn't anything under the bed"
Or he'll say he has no homework, but then mention later some something that's due the next day
Abi, I definitely second the cheesecake truffle idea!
