Almost Self-Reliant
I'm on my off time, thank God. Well, its not mimosa, because I've had those and the pods are huge comparing. Also the pods are furry. Momma has spoken of locust trees in a good way. I believe she pointed out a few furthur up the bayou, which I could identify if I went to that town, but can't say what the pods look like. I'd imagine they'd be about the size of a mimosa.....Momma put them in the same general class. We have a tree that grows locally that I can only say in French and forget about imagining I'd attempt to spell it because I know we have Canadians would know I had seriously mis-spell it but it has seriously big thorns and part of the name has the French name of thorn in it. Well it looks like a locust or mimosa from far, but the locust is prettier. This is a tree that the seeds can be saved in a pinch to make flour for purposes of bread or other needs.......but my seeds don't come from that tree.
Well, DD 16, planted 6 of them. I can tell you that Momma must be having fun with this one.
I cleaned out her refrigerator today. I took all her seeds, veternary meds and a lot of food that required cooking/baking, because Daddy won't cook. But I left a few things, so I can cook back there......or my sister. She had some climbing limas, cantelope, luffas, googootsies (spelling and pronouncement could be off), lots of basic herbs, injectable penicillin and animal electrolytes. They must be all expired, but if I'm ever in a tight spot and will lose something otherwise, I'll shoot a goat or something and hopefully save it. Can't imagine why Momma had it though.
