killing vermin has to happen. when they find easy prey, it is just that, free dinner all the time. can't happen. that is OUR food they are going after..LOL

I had many a barn tom cat in the barn. WOOF! P U big time!

I had a stupid tom come up and spray my leg. Was he claiming me...I don't know but I sure didn't appreicate it..HA HA

Toms love to spray plastic bags too!

Their only natural predator is an owl hua? They sound like wicked vile creatures!

How big are they I better google them myself since I'm up in the pacific north west now.

They use recorded hawk "voices" to ward off pigeons from bill boards. :hu

 FarmerChick, so do you mind bird poop more than cat piss? I can't imagine having more than one tom cat around to smell the place up. Our boy is neutered and he still thinks he can claim his territory. :rant Yes, he LOVES plastic bags. You have to watch where you put them. He also likes to claim my husband's coveralls. :gig

I think I saw the weasel about a year ago. I didn't know what it was at the time. I thought it might have been an otter or a mink? It took it all this time to move into the duck pen. Maybe it was taking down rats first. They are nasty creatures for sure. Fine if they keep to their habitat, but horrid if they find a free and easy meal.

____________
those are my choices? I pass on both----

Just seems like the bird poop always has a main target.....at least the cats are more "wherever" but those darn birds?? They got it in for me.
and that white icky mess just turns my gut for some reason...probably why I don't like chickens so much..:p

tell your hubby to watch out...that cat is taking over the male role in the house! :D

Could it be someone's lost ferret?

Aren't ferrets a weasel?

:gig It wouldn't surprise me!

Sorry. I guess the choices were pretty bad. :p I can handle the bird stuff (even the occasional messy one) a lot better than the cat piss. I don't mind cleaning up after birds. I hate cleaning up after cats.

I had wondered if it was someone's ferret that they let loose. But I think it is highly likely that it is a wild weasel. Our area probably has plenty of weasels, from the descriptions of weasel habitat I have read . . . they like roadsides and agricultural land.

We have 3 geese. They spread their wings and charge at predators while making a god awful racket. They seem to scare things away.

I want geese to scare people away, but I'm not sure they could scare a weasel. UGH . . . those long-tailed weasels are ugly. I'm pretty sure I saw one that size about a year ago.
