No gardening pictures at all. I have been with my Dad this weekend. But I have a new SS skill to add, How To Use Guns.

One of the creepiest things ever happened to me last night. I am at his house. At almost 1:30 last night he came swiftly walking up the steps. He asked me repeatedly if I had just gotten up. I told him no I have been asleep for several hours. I asked why he asked. He said he heard someone come down the steps and he had just recently went to bed. I want to note that there is no mistakening something coming down the steps they creak, moan, etc.

What makes it worse is that upstairs has always gave me the creeps.

Still do not know what made the noises. Needless to say Im part chicken and went down stairs and slept on the couch.

What are your thoughts?

'morning!

Old houses "creak and groan" all the time, particularly in response to the weather. Myself, I wouldn't worry about it, but I'm guessing I'm going to be in the minority view of the responses. :D

Put your fears/concerns in the hands of someone who'll handle it for you and sleep contentedly. :)

Thats the thing. This house is 13 years old.

And last night the weather was fine. Dry and warmer out. Not the usual monsoons and cold temps.

Our is about 11 years old. It pops, creaks, and groans as the ground dries out after long wet periods or we have temp swings. :idunno

Noises in the middle of the night are definately scary. If it bothered you, I would say it was probably something out of the ordinary. Could be the woodwork in the house drying out after all the spring moisture, etc. Anyway, it's over, it's what you do moving forward that is important. Be alert and prepared but no need for fear. :D I take it he doesn't have a guard dog?

Two dogs. I can't think of anything it could have been that is normal. It wasnt anyone. It was dry all yesterday. It shouldnt be cracking that much if something wasnt forcing it.

Well then, if it happens again, you might have something but I still wouldn't be concerned unless it happened again. :hu Just my two cents from someone with a way overactive imagination!
