You know folks used to slaughter excess barn cats for banjo heads and strings...seriously. They skinned them and used the skin for the heads. So weird. What would be animal cruelty now, was just making a musical instrument then

Yeah animal cruelty is all about perspective. Like I hate the thoughts of someone doing that to cat but Im a cat lover so I dont like that. And some people (cough, cough) on a certain sister site think its cruel to butcher chickens...........

Yep perspective. Chicken is tasty for sure. I HATE cats with a burning passion, but I wouldn't kill one just for a banjo Maybe if they get after my chickens, and these strays around here DO stalk my birds so I shoot them. I really hates cats though :/

Exactly! When my cat stalks the ducks its so funny she just lurks and the ducks see her and its hilarious She has never bothered them nor has the momma of the kittens. But we do have a stray who is gonna die. He has tried to kill her and is majorly agressive so death is coming. I need anew banjo anyway

I don't see why that's any more an issue than killing animals for skins to clothe and house people. Music is important. I think cruelty comes more in methods and reason. Destroying animals for no gain to anything makes no sense to me.

We're omnivores. We're going to eat animals. It's better to use all of it than to waste, so for me, I'm more concerned to know if they ate the rest of the cat. And killed it quickly.

It is MUCH crueler to tie fireworks to a live cat.

I figure they, being all SS 100% then, most likely fed the cats to the hogs they kept in the woods I would've anyway, ya know, so as not to waste a perfectly dead cat...I woulda said "good" cat, but there's no such animal
