I also want to dry some corn so she will make some of Jamie's corn thingy (cant remember the name)
Grandma's Dried Corn....I have found a processing method that had the corn drying 12-15 hours in a 150 degree oven. I have to go to the basement and unpack the appliance I got after Grandma passed before I can give better direction.

I will have an update by sweet corn season!

We have SEVERAL heirloom varieties. Black ones, yellow ones, purple ones, pinkish ones, Romas too.
If you have breed/variety names, I'd appreciate the info.
Roma
Pineapple
Brandywine
Caspian Pink
Cherokee Purple
Cherokee Black
Arkansas Black

Then a variety that starts with a "p" I cant think of it

No, not in my opinion, the heat imparts a new flavor to the corn. I've had the cob-dried corn re-hydrated and it just tasted "blah" to me.

Oh then I guess the other method would be better. The other "p" variety is Ponderossa Pink
