I haven't had my camera out in quite a while. I should make better use of it. ;)

QA and I had talked about attending OH Nationals, but we decided not to this year. We both just have too much winterizing left to do and really don't need the temptation of buying more new birds. Have fun and bring back a report, Javamama.

Chicks doing very well so far. Temps in the brooder fluctuate between 80 (day) and 60 (night), but they don't seem to mind.

Looking forward to going to OH Nationals to see some of you and other BYC members. :D And to pick up my new call ducks. :celebrate

My church is selling live Christmas wreaths for funds to help repair a flat roof. I posted 2 of the options on BYC if anyone is interested. They ship direct to you or a loved one within the USA and as long as you have a street address. :)

Becca, my plans for the show tomorrow are to be there early - by 10 probably and then I don't know how long we'll stay. We do have to be home by 1:00 so our daughter can be picked up for a play date. I'll check in at the BYC table.
I'm going to bed now but I'll check here in the morning in case of last minute messages :)
Hope to see you guys there! or at my house, whichever you can do.

Saturday turned out to have beautiful weather (probably our last for the year), and I spent all day in Columbus. The OH National Poultry Show was huge. There were tons of birds for sale, but I'm so glad they widened the isles this year in that area. I'm proud of myself for only bringing home a pre-arranged sale of call ducks from Foley's Waterfowl. There were plenty of birds for sale and breeders to meet, but I just wasn't tempted like I was last year (my first year).

I came home and looked at a couple of my hens and kicked myself for not showing this year. Next year I will! But that will require staying in Columbus all weekend. ;)

Met up with lots of BYC friends, new and old. Highlight of the day we meeting Javamama and going to her house for the grand tour. She makes a mean cup of java. :D And she owns some funky chickens. ;) I'm sure Quail_Antwerp would love to elaborate on our full visit. Maybe she'll make it to a computer soon. :duc

Sunday was drizzly, but I forced myself to clean out rabbit pans and under chicken roosts. The poo had sure been piling up. There were feather piles in all the coop corners from molting. I don't know if the animals care, but I feel better about their housing now.

Had 3 buyers come buy on Sunday. Sold a pullet, 2 silkie chicks, and 5 dozen eggs.

I spent the evening wrapping shoe boxes for Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child, but I'm not quite done with my 6. Need to get them to our church coordinator ASAP.

Good weekend! :D

I may have to duct tape QA's hands to prevent her from writing about my funky chicken happenings  And the view from my from window
It was a pleasure having you guys out. :hugs And Karen and her hubby! What a day. It's so much fun to have other people around who get the whole backyard farm thing.

You girls picked up some beautiful birds from the show!

We have snow! Lots of it for December. Usually a December snow will come lightly and then promptly melt and be followed by a few days of mild weather until the pattern repeats. This snow is piling up close to 2 inches and lingering like it was January or something. There have already been school delays and such. Seems unusual. I just hope this pattern doesn't continue since I'm already sick of doing animals chores in the the frozen tundra.
