Oh, girls...you have no idea how much I wish that could happen! :) I'd give just about anything to get us all in one place---I think we wouldn't stop talking for three days!!!! :p

My mom and her sisters, 3 of them, have a family reunion each year. They stay in a hotel room the night before and attend in the morning. My mom just got to do this with them the last few years, as my dad would never allow it. This year they stayed up half the night, giggling and cutting up until the eldest, Aunt Betty, finally had to keep getting on to them! They are all in their 70s. :p

Now, doesn't that sound like fun? Next year, I am going along!!! :D I miss having gal friends so badly........ :(

Two things come to mind. (And that is a LOT for my feeble mind!:p)

Number 1: We DO indeed need a hillbilly dictionary thread. Just think about all of those poor city dwellers that we talk into a self sufficient lifestyle and then ... when they finally move out to the country to live the dream - they can't understand a word their neighbors are saying. :th :hit We have a responsibility here.

Number 2: I am preparing to go to the Countryside Reunion on Friday. You guys know the Countryside Magazine and Small Stock Journal. For the last nine years they have invited their readers to unite at someone's farm for a weekend of visiting and learning from one another. It has been in Indiana every year till NOW! Now it has moved to Missouri and I get to go! :weee :celebrate :weee I got hubby talked into it and we are really heading out. I am so excited. I hope that it will be something like you described Bee - since all the people there should share some of the same goals and ideals. I just wish you all would be there too. That way I would have someone I already know to talk to.

That would definitely be something I would want to attend, even though I've boycotted CS mag for some time now.....too political. Used to love, love, love the mag.

Hey, Farm, when I get back to my own computer, I actually have a translation site that offers translation in any language--including redneck---for any phrase you type.

I think Nifty should provide funding for any "representative" of the forum who wants to attend such a function and write a report of the event! ;) :D

I happen to know a young fellow who is well versed in hillbilly and redneck lingo. I could ask him to serve in an advisory capacity for the writing of a book if you want me to.

Just let me know. :caf
