Yes, Farm, she has some fresh new grass for the mowing, as the sheep and calf can't really keep up with it now that we have been having all this rain.

Hey, you know, my mom was sort of the enemy once for me too....she was Dad's puppet. It made my life very hard but over the years she slowly woke up to the fact that I was not the bad person he painted me to be.

Its really bad when your parents can't see what a gift you are from God....we can only pray that all parents wake up. I did just today and I see in a whole new way. I wasn't as bad as my parents but had started to do some of the same things to my oldest son......thank God He opened my eyes today. Just today.

:) :clap :love

Well, Blossom and Shade are now home...I will take a few pics when I get Blossom cleaned up...seems travel gives her the terrible runs!!! :sick All over the truck, all over me..literally, face, hair, every part of exposed skin got splattered..... :duc

Shade is a whole different color now and HUGE compared to my scruffy little Angus, Hitch. Shade looks like an aristocrat while poor little Hitch looks like the inbred, poor white trash cow in comparison.....I feel sorry for her! :p

I'll try to get you a photo of the two together...it will give you an idea of just how different they are, how much nutrition from birth matters and just plain old comformation and good breeding differs. They were the same size when I bought Hitch, so I was assuming approx. the same age.

I don't think I'll have any trouble at all selling Princess Shade or Blossom...she is looking good but I will dress her out better before I advertise her.

I really like that old cow and it will be hard to part with her for good. I'm hoping she finds a great home with wide open pastures.

Awww...poor little hitch!

I am sure Blossom and Shade will sell quickly you have done well by them and they (well Blossom) needed you :)

I have been meaning to post about your family situation. I have had a hard time thinking about what to write. My father pulled all kinds of crap at a really bad time in my life...I was 6 mos pregnant with my second child when he decided that killing himself might be the way out and then lied and said he was dying of cancer...very long tedious story...which I have been avoiding sharing. But you are strong and so is your mom. You will find a way to protect her and God is going to show you the way. I hope that the transition is swift and painless. :hugs

So sorry Dace. :hugs

This is why getting this stuff out in the open is a good thing. We have all had trials to bear.

Creek, I just don't have enough grass for the ol' bossy here on my meager acreage. I thought I would, but she is a hungry, hungry hippo and my grass couldn't recover enough for her. I had never really intended on getting a full grown cow on here but it just sort of happened and I still don't know why.....I guess I'll figure it all out in the end.

Lori, you are soooooo right!

Mom's room has now been given to oldest son, Joel, for various reasons with which Mom agrees. We will paint it Surfer Blue with white trim, the floor will be high gloss grey or slate blue. Mom will be sharing my room or my son, Jon's, room for awhile....they are the safest rooms in the house, as you have to pass through my room to get to Jon's.

We felt this was best for now. Mom doesn't care and she will be thrilled to share a room with Jon or with me, as he and I will be to share with her. We are not a real privacy oriented family....my room doesn't even have a door! :p

Next year Jon will be in college and she can have the biggest room in the house all to herself. We will furnish as a bedroom/sitting room and she can have all her big exercise equipment in it....she owns the Total Gym and a Stair Climber.... My 75 yr. old exercise guru!

Hey, all you folks....if you only ever read one book in your life, let me advise you to read The Shack by William P. Young. I don't have words to describe what a wonderful book this is! I cried all the way through it, felt blessed all the way through it and hated that it had to end. It answered so many questions for me and affirmed a lot of what I had already worked out in my mind.

You won't regret spending the time to read this book. It was a healing thing for me to read it. Anyone who has ever been mad at God, anyone who has ever been hurt badly, anyone who has ever lost a loved one needs to read this book.

Thanks for the book suggestion...I am always reading b/c I don't sleep well.

I am glad your Mom is mooving in. (Lame attempt at a cow joke, not a typo this time.)

My grandma lived with us most of my life. She was like having another Mom around. I have the very best memories of living with her in our house....THE BEST! :)( I miss her so much!)

Yes! I am feeling so very blessed that she can come and live with us....she is such a joy to be around! Hard worker, never complains of anything, joyful, intelligent, humorous and doesn't focus on the negatives in life.

She is fun to be around and always wakes up to each new day with a plan in mind. She also loves to read as much as I do, loves to garden and do SS things like I do and is always eager to learn new things.

Although she sort of lacks some strengths when it comes to dealing with those who attempt to subjugate her, she is a lot like me underneath it all. I really enjoy knowing her! :love

I read THE SHACK about a year ago and I thought it was very enlightening. Caused quite an uproar with some of our church patrons, though. I really liked it though.
